Trading account

Set up a trading account once per buyer, then sell them tokens for QTC as often as you like. It takes one signature and never holds your money.

The question

How can someone buy your tokens without either of you having to trust the other?

Before you sell to someone, you and that buyer share a trading account. It is a native Quantus account that needs both of your signatures (2-of-2). You set it up once per buyer with one wallet signature, and every later offer to that buyer reuses it.

It never holds your QTC or your tokens. Its only job is to carry your offer so that only your buyer can accept it, only once, and only by paying in the same transaction.

From setup to sale

  1. 01 / 04

    Set up

Open Market, then Create an offer, and enter the buyer’s address. Press Set up trading and sign in your wallet. This creates the 2-of-2 trading account for the two of you. Wait until it shows Trading setup ready.

  2. 02 / 04

    Offer

Choose the amount, your total price in QTC and how long the offer lasts, then press Create sell offer and sign. The tokens stay in your balance but are reserved: they cannot be sent elsewhere until the offer is bought, cancelled or expires.

  3. 03 / 04

    Share

Send your buyer the offer link. Once the offer is final on chain, their wallet checks it independently: the token, the amount, the price, the fee and that it is addressed to them.

  4. 04 / 04

    Buy

The buyer signs one transaction that accepts your offer, pays you the full price and pays the 1% fee. Either all of it happens and the tokens are theirs, or none of it happens and nothing moves.

Why a shared account?

The buyer's acceptance is the purchase. Your offer is a proposal inside the trading account. It can only complete when the second signer, your buyer, approves it.

The network enforces "only once". Quantus itself refuses a second approval of the same proposal, so an offer can never be paid or delivered twice.

Approval and payment are one transaction. The buyer cannot accept without paying, and cannot pay without receiving. Nobody holds the money in between, not even Qlyphs.

Native costs are a few thousandths of a QTC. Your wallet shows the exact amount before you sign. Keep at least 0.02 QTC spendable for network fees. The seller always receives the full price.

Good to know

  • One per buyer. A trading account belongs to exactly two people. To sell to someone else, set up a new one with them. If that buyer already set one up with you, it is reused.
  • No funds inside. The account never receives your QTC or your tokens, so nothing can get stuck in it.
  • Cancel any time before the sale. A live offer can be cancelled, and an offer that expires releases your tokens automatically.
  • Waiting for confirmation. Each step must be final on chain before the next one opens. The transaction panel shows where it is.
  • "Trading setup needs checking". The result of your signature is not known yet. Check the transaction in your wallet before you try again: an unknown result does not mean it failed.
