Quarks

A Quark is a numbered one-of-one asset whose content is written into a Quantus transaction. Create one at app.qlyphs.com.

The question

How can one unique object live on a chain that only knows payments and messages?

A Quark is a small piece of content (a drawing, an image, a line of text, any file of up to about 1 KB) written into a Quantus transaction and turned into an asset with exactly one unit. Its content and its number never change. Its owner can.

Quarks are live on Quantus mainnet. Create yours at app.qlyphs.com/quarks.

What makes a Quark

  • A number. Quarks are numbered in the order they reach the chain: #1, #2, #3 and so on. The number is part of the record and is never reassigned.
  • One unit. Supply 1, 0 decimals. It cannot be minted again, split or diluted.
  • Content on chain. The bytes travel inside the transaction itself: not a link, not a file on a server. Anyone with the Quantus history can read them back and check their SHA-256.
  • An owner. The creator owns it first. It changes hands only when its owner signs a transfer.

From content to Quark

  1. 01 / 05

    Create

Open Create a Quark and pick a mode: draw on a 12 × 12 grid, drop in an image, type some text or choose a file. A meter shows how much of the roughly 960 bytes of content you have used.

  2. 02 / 05

    Sign

Press Review, check the content and the fee, then sign in Qlyphs Keys or the Qlyphs Wallet extension. Your key never leaves your device. One transaction writes the content and pays the Qlyphs fee: both happen, or neither does.

  3. 03 / 05

    Numbered

Once the transaction is in a block, your Quark takes the next free number. If someone else’s lands first, yours takes the number after it. A race never costs anyone their Quark.

  4. 04 / 05

    Final

Twenty blocks later the Quark is final: its number, content and creator are settled for good. Until then a chain reorganization could still move it.

  5. 05 / 05

    Yours

Your Quark has its own page at app.qlyphs.com/quarks/ followed by its number, and it appears on the board with every other Quark. From its page you can send it to any Quantus address.

What you can inscribe

Any content type, as long as the whole message fits in one 1,024-byte payload. That leaves about 960 bytes for the content itself; the create page shows exactly how much is left.

ModeWhat it makesGood for
DrawA 12 × 12 pixel drawing, saved as SVGPixel art, marks, symbols
ImageA small PNGIcons and tiny pictures
TextPlain textWords, poems, messages
FileAny file that fits, with its own content typeAnything else that small

The same content can be inscribed more than once. What is unique is the record and its number; a Quark does not claim that its content is original or that its creator holds rights to it.

What it costs

ActionFee
Create a Quark0.1 QTC, plus the Quantus network fee (about 0.001 QTC)
Send a QuarkNetwork fee only

The Qlyphs fee is paid in the same transaction that writes the Quark. Your wallet computes it itself and refuses to sign any other amount. When the fee schedule switches on at Quantus block 218,350, creating a Quark is priced at 25 USD in QTC at the on-chain rate (see One price, in dollars).

Check it yourself

A Quark is not a row in a Qlyphs database. It is a QLYP message inside a Quantus transaction, signed with its creator's post-quantum key (ML-DSA-87). Its number comes from replaying the Quantus history under the public QLYP rules: anyone who does it gets the same numbers, the same content and the same owners. The app also checks every Quark's content against its SHA-256 before drawing it.

Safe to display

A Quark is data, never code. The wallet and the app escape text, show SVG only as an image and never run HTML or scripts from a Quark, whatever its content type says.

Live on mainnet

Creating and sending Quarks is open now. Selling Quarks comes with Trade, under the same market rules and 1% sale fee as any token.
